Who caused the injury, the implanting surgeon or the mesh manufacturer?

If the patient had unexpected problems (like trouble urinating) within the first month of the implant, it is more likely the problems were caused by malpractice than by the characteristics of the mesh itself. If, instead, the problems began six months or later after the implant, it is more likely that the mesh was the problem, and not because of negligence during surgical implantation.
